I am in a remote class and I am having difficulty reaching my instructor for help. What should I do?
My clinical experience has been impacted by virtual learning. Can I still get credit for my work in prior semesters?
Did tutoring hours change? Is tutoring only by appointment? How can I get remote tutoring?
All colleges are offering tutoring remotely. Check with your college’s Academic Support Services Center by visiting www.ccc.edu/VSS to access tutoring services.
I would like to get support from Wellness. Can I do that during remote learning?
Yes. All Wellness Centers are active and providing services. You can connect with them by visiting www.ccc.edu/VSS.
I get support from the Disability Access Center (DAC) for my classes. Now that we are learning remotely, can I still get accommodations?
You can contact your DAC director by email, or by visiting www.ccc.edu/VSS. To receive more information regarding the type of accommodations we provide please click here.
I wanted to get support from the Disability Access Center (DAC) for my classes, but I did not request accommodations before. Now that we are learning remotely, can I still ask for and get accommodations?
Yes. DAC accommodations are still available. You can contact your college’s DAC by visiting www.ccc.edu/VSS.
I need to borrow a laptop. What do I do?
Student will login to the Portal at http://my.ccc.edu and click (under Announcements) the “Loaner Laptop Request” link.
If this is my first semester at City Colleges of Chicago, do I qualify to receive a loaner laptop?Toggle Title
Yes. Credit students (pursuing a degree) and Adult Education students, enrolled in the current semester are eligible for technology loans during the current semester.
I need help with a Loaner Laptop I already have. What do I do?

If I retake a course free using the NO Cost Retake Policy, can I still get Financial Aid in the term I retake the class?
You can get financial aid, but since the re-take course is free, that course will not count in your tuition bill or be counted toward your financial aid packaging. For example, if a student registers for 12 credit hours and 3 credit hours are a free repeat class, then Financial Aid will only package for 9 credit hours, because that is what the student’s tuition bill is based upon.
If I want to retake a course from spring 2020, is the no cost option still available?
Spring 2021 is the last semester you can retake spring 2020 courses for no cost. Please talk to your advisor by going to www.ccc.edu/VSS if you have questions about your registration for a future term. You can also schedule an appointment through Navigate.
Which of my courses can I retake at no cost?
Any course which you were taking as of March 16, 2020 can be re-taken at no cost in Spring 2023. Note that you only get one no cost re-take of any Spring 2020 course, so if you enroll, start the class, and then withdraw from it you will not get a second free retake of that course in a later term. Please talk to your Academic Advisor if you have questions.

I paid for a CLEP test but it was cancelled and hasn’t been rescheduled. Can I get a refund?
Test takers whose registration tickets expired on or after March 1 due to the impact of COVID-19 are eligible to receive a CLEP exam voucher that would allow them to take an exam any time between now and June 30th, 2021.If you purchased a registration ticket that has expired, please contact CLEP Services by emailing clep@info.collegeboard.org with “Exam Voucher – Coronavirus” in the subject line or by calling 800-257-9558. When contacting CLEP, please include your name, address, telephone number, and CLEP exam subject. Please note that these vouchers are for students who purchased their registration tickets. If you registered for your CLEP exam using a voucher code from your school or another entity, please contact the person who provided the original voucher.
I need to take a placement test for CCC. What should I do?
Students can access their English placement test in two places: Brightspace and https://my.ccc.edu. To access the test in Brightspace: go to brightspace.ccc.edu > Login with your CCC credentials > under My Courses you will see English Placement. To access the test via the New Student Portal: go to https://my.ccc.edu > New Student Task > Placement Test > ?
To access the Math Placement Test via ALEKS PPL: go to https://my.ccc.edu > New Student Task > Placement Test > Complete CCC Math Placement.
Please Note: All students *except* Early College students should log into their student portal to access their Math assessment through ALEKS PPL.
I am having difficulty accessing my placement test. What should I do?

Will there be a commencement ceremony for the spring 2021 graduates?
Is the payment deadline still in effect?
Students will have three days from the day they register for classes to make payment arrangements for their tuition bill. You can learn more by visiting www.ccc.edu/waystopay.
I applied for admission but I haven’t heard anything yet. Who should I talk to?

I think I am supposed to apply for financial aid for Spring. Who should I talk to?
You will need to file a FAFSA, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, to get started. Learn more by visiting www.ccc.edu/FAFSA or connect with a financial aid advisor at ccc.edu/VSS.
I have submitted my application and I have been admitted. What do I do next?
Congratulations! When you visit your New Student Portal, you will see a checklist that explains all your next steps and the people who can help you get started.
You should have received an email with your City Colleges username and password. If you need to reset your password, visit www.ccc.edu/password.
